Theodore stg. facing, crowned and wearing loros and sagion, holding labarum and globus surmounted by patriarchal cross, manus Dei in upper field to r. Unpublished in the standard works of reference in this size; for the full-sized billon trachy of this type, cf. DOC 10 (type G), Hendy pl. 38, 8-9, and Sear-Bendall 2168. The reverse Very Fine, the obverse effaced in striking, very rare.

The smaller-sized billon trachea of Thessalonica appear to have circulated in Bulgaria whereas the regular-sized pieces were generally current in northern Greece.
