Condition details: This piece is in very good condition. With the unaided eye, there are no issues. Closer inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no issues and no signs of restoration. The work is mounted under glass and has not been inspected out of the frame. The piece is framed in a brown/gold frame with a cream linen liner, brown fillet, and a cream matting. The matting is signed; ‘Beaver Men in the Tetons’ From the Sketch Book of Byron B. Wolfe. The frame is in very good condition with normal wear. The artist’s bio is provided on the back. Verso on back: Beaver Men in The Tetons, Time-1800s into 1830s, Place- The Teton Range. This Painting is based on String lake that empties into Jenny Lake. The beaver trade opened this area to the white trapper. The first white man, John Colter crossed this range near Teton Pass in 1808. Later in 1811 the Astorians under Wilson Price Hunt.
