Buzz Aldrin's Korean War Pilot's Log Book
Buzz Aldrin's Korean War Pilot's Log Book. Measuring 8.5" x 5.75", this fascinating flight log book details 41 of Buzz Aldrin's 66 Korean War missions flown between January and April of 1953 with the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing. The book is entirely in Buzz Aldrin's hand, and the second page is signed "Edwin E. Aldrin Jr" at the bottom. Though he only used six pages of the book, they are chock full of tantalizing details about 2nd Lieutenant Buzz Aldrin's Korean War experience. The "REMARKS" column alone is amazing, with brief handwritten details of Aldrin's battle missions, flown from Suwon (K-13), Korea. One remark for January 24 reads "Failure control, Sim. flame out, Lt. Gregor, #2 Banks, Bounce". Another reads "MiGs along Yalu river separating North Korea from China ". The most intriguing entry is that of February 16, when Aldrin writes "Shot at a MiG". Aldrin shot down two MiGs in his Korean War service. Could this have been one of them? A one-of-a-kind artifact from Buzz Aldrin's heroic service in the Korean War. From the personal collection of Dr. Buzz Aldrin and accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from him.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
