Buzz Aldrin Sophomore Year Student Paper
Buzz Aldrin: Handwritten West Point Sophomore Year Student Paper, "Edwin E. Aldrin". Five pages, 8.5" x 11", college-ruled notebook paper, United States Military Academy at West Point, May 6, 1949, class paper on the effects of the past on the future, turquoise ink. All pages entirely in Aldrin's hand, with additional edit marks written by his instructor. Includes "Aldrin, E E" at the header of each page. Signed in full "Edwin E. Aldrin" at the conclusion of the text. Titled "Past Predicts Future", this engrossing student theme from Buzz Aldrin centers on the way humans learn from past events and mistakes in order to make decisions. He writes that "Apprentices to the military life learn their basic concepts through a close study of Napoleon, Caesar, Alexander the Great, and the generals of the Civil War." The overarching concept of this particular paper can be summed up on the last page when Aldrin writes that "History is a treasure chest containing the crystal ball of the future." Two pages have a superficial tear, and the first page shows two small stains, else very fine. Instructor's edit marks scattered throughout. A wonderful and deep examination on the role of the past and its application to future decisions.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
