Buzz Aldrin’s flown 6.5 x 6.5 swatch of Beta cloth featuring the Apollo 11 insignia carried to the moon during the first lunar-landing mission, signed and flight-certified in black ink, "Flown to the moon–Apollo XI, Buzz Aldrin.” Matted with a typed letter of provenance signed by Aldrin, dated July 1999, in part: "This Apollo 11 beta cloth emblem flew to the Moon during July 16 to 24, 1969 on the Apollo 11 mission. The emblem was carried in the command module Columbia. The lunar module Eagle made the first lunar landing on July 20, 1969. The beta cloth has been in my private collection since 1969.” Archivally framed to an overall size of 13.75 x 19.5. In very fine condition.
