Five pages, 8.5" x 11", college-ruled notebook paper, United States Military Academy at West Point, October 30, 1950, class paper on football, turquoise ink. Aldrin writes his name at the top of each page "<I>Cadet Aldrin, E E</B></I>" Signed at the conclusion of the text, "<I>Edwin E. Aldrin</B></I>". Titled "<I>The Warrior's Sport</B></I>", Aldrin focuses his attention on West Point's Army football team. Aldrin attributes "<I>the supremacy of West Point on the football field</B></I>" to the "<I>military attitude</B></I>" that the Army football coaches instill using "military principles." Aldrin compares various position players on a football team to certain members of the armed forces. For instance, Aldrin argues that the quarterback of the Army football team acts "<I>according to the plans and training of the coach...very much like the actions of the General of the Army in carrying out the policies of the President</B></I>." The pages show one small crease at the upper left, and one page shows some toning, else very fine condition.
