Bushnell 4x Banner 4x32 Rifle Scope c. 1960-80s
Featured in this lot is this 1960-80s 4x Banner 4x32 rifle scope made by Bushnell. After returning from his honeymoon in Japan with two crates of binoculars, David P. Bushnell founded the Bushnell optics company in 1948 and began selling binoculars by mail order. Bushnell was an American businessman who introduced affordable precision binoculars to the middle class for the first time. He was also among the first businessmen from Southern California to recognize the potential of promoting products made in Asia at a lower cost in the US market. This rifle scope shows a knob on the top and one on the right for adjustments and zeroing the scope in. Near the top knob it reads, "4x Banner by Bushnell", while the bottom is marked, "4x32 BL Japan No. C145937". The cross hair is clean and clearly visible through the scope. The front of the scope has been slightly bent but does not effect the view port. Shows slight cosmetic wear from its age and use over the years but no signs of major damage is noted. The scope measures 11 11/16" L x 1 1/2" H and weighs 8 ounces.
