Burnside percussion carbine, .54 cal., 21” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, #6972. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing approx. 98% original toned blue on barrel, approx. 98% case colors on receiver and approx. 80% lightened original case color on the lock plate; the bore is overall good with several spots of pitting, crisp action, sharp markings and inspector stamps, bright blue finish on lever and the top and bottom of the breech block mechanism. The wood is very good with scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage, two really sharp cartouches on the left side of the butt stock above the trigger assembly and “SMH” initials stamped on the rear top of the butt stock. The carbine saddle ring and the bar are retained as is the rear sling swivel. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
