Burnside model 1864, .52 caliber Civil War carbine, blue and case hardened finish, serial #18831. The carbine remains in very good plus to near fine condition showing 75-85% original blue on barrel. Some minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The frame and lock show 50-70% case hardening that is just starting to tone, drift to silver, with good strong rainbow colors, lightening slightly with beginning age. The bottom lever latch show 75-85% bright original blue, the left side of the buttstock show two good clear cartouches. The stocks are also very good plus to near fine with just a few minor bumps and scratches, normal storage. The rear of the comb near the buttplate are stamped “N”, the buttplate shows 75% toning case hardening. The tang shows traces of original blue. The original small parts, springs, and sights are retained. Matching numbers. Tight action. Excellent bore. A strong 8.5 – 9 on a 1-10 scale. From the Bernard Braverman Collection. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
