Burnside 5th model breech loading Civil War carbine in .52 caliber percussion remaining in very good plus original condition serial number 19599. The barrel retains 60% to 80% original blue that is aging and toningnaturally. There is some minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. Cast steel marking on barrel is very visible. The frame shows 20% to 40% case hardening and is drifting to a light silvery gray with somefaint colors mixed in. The lever, action part and tang show traces of original blue. The stocks are also very good plus with 2 sharp cartouches. There are some minor scratches, dings, mars and small imperfectionsconsistent with military issue, storage, and use. The numbers are all matching and all small parts are retained. The action is good and the bore is very good with a slight ring about halfway down that may clean out. Est.:$1250 $2500.
