Burnside .52 caliber Civil War era saddle ring carbine, serial #12942. In fair to good original condition with Springfield research service letter dated April 13, 1992 stating that carbine #12942 was found in the companyregimental books 6th Illinois volunteer cavalry, and belonging to Private Edwin Page, Company D. Includes copy of the company records and Page’s service records. The 6th Cavalry. The metal surfaces show a grey-brown patina finish with a scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. Good markings. The front band is well-fashioned old period replacement. The buttstock shows some breaks, damages, and losses and is fairto poor. The action is good, the bore is good. A well identified carbine to an Illinois Cavalry trooper. Est: $1,000 - $2,000
