Burnside 4th model .52 caliber percussion breechloading carbine in fine original condition, serial #19415. The barrel shows 75-85% evenly thinning and toning blue finish, some scattered light erosion and natural aging just starting. The frame shows 75-85% case hardening as does the hammer with some very colorful rainbow hues. The lever and hinged portion show 80-90% bright original blue. The interior shows little to no use and the bore is excellent. The stock shows 2 razor-sharp cartouches on left side of wrist, some small dings, mars, slight scratches and handling, and some just beginning aging on left side of lock. The stock shows a few storage dings and mars. There is an “NSP” inspector’s stamp on the wood by the buttplate. The buttplate shows 75-85% case hardening, the top strap shows 20-30% drifting blue. The saddlering, sights, and small parts are all retained. A very high condition burnside which would rate an 8.5 on a scale of 1-10. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
