Burne Hogarth's title for this figure study reads, "The Principle of Using Perspective Ellipses in Foreshortening with a Joint as a Pivot."<B> </B></I>Hogarth's revolutionary approach to "constructive figure anatomy" influenced scores of superhero cartoonists, and this seminal book remained in print for decades. The faded inscription at the lower right reads, "To Guy and Mary Gilchrist -- Best to you both always, Burne Hogarth, 1980." This sepia ink on vellum piece was matted to an overall size of 16.5" x 21.5".
