Five stock certificates from the popular and famous Bullfrog Mining District, discovered in 1905 in Nye County, Nevada.

The Original Bullfrog Mines Syndicate held the original Bullfrog mine on "Bullfrog Mountain". This mine was known by its unusual blue-green minerals in quartz with native gold. Specimens of this ore were sent to Tiffany's in New York for lapidary work, and a number of fobs were made.

1. Original Bullfrog Mines Syndicate stock certificate No. 6678, incorporated in the Territory of Arizona, for Goldfield, Nevada mine. Issued to H.G. Phillips for 500 shares ($1 per share) on November 22, 1906 in San Francisco (323 Mills Building). Signed by P.F. Carney (vice president) and E.P. Foster (assistant secretary). This certificate displays the most famous Bullfrog vignette (center).

2. Montgomery Shoshone Consolidated Mining Company stock certificate No. A2945, incorporated in the state of South Dakota. Issued to Chas. M. Schwab for 100 shares ($5 per share) on December 30, 1910. Signed by Ian McDonald (president). Vignette shows stunning detail of two underground mine workers drilling.

3. Bullfrog National Bank Gold Mining Company stock certificate No. 2264, incorporated in South Dakota. Issued to N.K. Shaw for 500 shares ($1 per share) on March 23, 1907 in San Francisco. Signed by the famous mine promoter L.L. Patrick (president). 3 vignettes: 3 miners on a forest hillside, examining a rock (top left), underground mining scene with workers at task (top center), pipe-smoking prospector panning in a creek (top right).

4. The Homestake King Consolidated Bullfrog Mining and Milling Company stock certificate No. 1751, incorporated in Arizona. Issued to Nah Boas(?) for 1000 shares ($1 per share) on January 26, 1909. Signed by B.D. Milany(?) (president). The principal office was located in Dallas, Texas, with branch offices in San Francisco and Tonopah, Nevada. Vignette of Greek goddess, sitting with one had on American shield, the other holding up a wreath; excellent detail of her hair, the folds of the toga and wreath.

5. Original Bullfrog Mines Syndicate stock certificate No. 399, incorporated in the Territory of Arizona. Issued to F. G. Harvey for 500 shares ($1 each) in January 1905. Signed by F. Carlsen (president). Three vignettes: three underground miners examing a rock (top left), landscape scene with refinery near river in mountains (top center), four underground miners at task (top right). Green border on white paper. Fine. This is the more rare of the two OBMS certificates, though it is not nearly as attractive as the other.
