Buffalo-Built Automobile. Sales catalogue, 19
Buffalo-Built Automobile. Sales catalogue, 1920 Parenti, "Tomorrow's Car - Today." 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 , (12) pp. plus double gatefold with large photos of touring car and sedan, gold leaf and black on mocha cover, black on enamel text. "No frame, no axles, basic structural material - plywood, eight-cylinder air-cooled motor." A novel car, including use of aluminum, bronze, plywood disk wheels, and their "direct blast" engine. Only eighteen cars were built, but some were painted in bright orange, purple, and yellow. Interesting provenance: stamped "File Copy - Patent Library - A(merican) A(utomobile) A(ssociation) - Detroit...." Contemporary manuscript marking, "Commodore Hotel, Jan. 8 to 15, 1921," the New York venue for auto shows. Old tape reinforcement at inside hinge, two holes punched by Patent Library for filing, else very fine and very scarce. With 1960s reprint of Adria catalogue, 8 pp. Adria was formed by Parenti employees; Parenti sued in 1921, claiming their secret blueprints had been stolen.
