This Buddha head was made Burma (Myanmar) in the 17th century and is characterized by its distinct malachite patina. The face of the enlightened has an aristocratic expression with half-closed eyes. The bridge of the nose passes into finely curved eye brows. The full lips of the mouth are formed into a slight smile and give the face a peaceful, meditative expression. Long earlobes, the dome-shaped ushnisha and the little curls on Buddhas head underline his majesty. The head is mounted on a modern wooden base.



The Buddha head is in optically appealing condition with signs of age and wear. Partially restored cracks verso and loss of material on the ushnisha are visible. The dimensions of the head are 10 cm in height, 7 cm in width and depth. The height with base is 16.5 cm. (lvp)
