Impressive banner honoring the 357th Fighter Group, an air combat unit of the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War, signed on both sides of the lower border in black felt tip, "C. E. 'Bud' Anderson, P–51 Old Crow 16 1/4 kills." The banner measures 116.5? x 35.75? and features the 357th Fighter Group emblem with winged yellow arm holding sword against a blue shield with lower scroll reading: "Fighters For Victory." In fine condition. The 357th operated P-51 Mustang aircraft as part of the US Eighth Air Force and its members were known unofficially as the Yoxford Boys. Anderson, who flew a P-51D Mustang he named 'Old Crow,' served alongside Chuck Yeager in the 357th Fighter Group. Yeager once called Anderson, 'The best fighter pilot I ever saw.'
