Both the book and the textblock are in beautiful condition, showing only the faintest shelfwear to boards. Dust jacket is worn, with several small chips and sections of paper loss (particularly at spine ends) and a few tears, one of which affects the title on the front cover. Brunner's wide-ranging narrative tells the story of an overpopulated world where people are hemmed in by a prison made not of metal bars, but of other human beings, and the dire consequences that will result from the sheer press of humanity.
