<B>Brownville, NE- Nemaha Valley Bank</B></I> $1 June 8, 1857 G4a <BR> An excessively rare note featuring a brown "Lazy 1" protector. It was last offered in the 2003 Memphis sale, where the Smythe cataloguer noted "This note should excite several collectors. It isn't pictured in Haxby but it is listed and has a vignette design and balance as nice as we have ever seen on any note. The bank issued two series, one from TCC and this one from WHW. This note is perhaps 2,000 times rarer than the first. Excellent grade and appeal, worthy of the finest collection. <B>Very Fine.</B></I>" Estimated there at $750-1500, it reached $2410 in heated floor bidding.
