A very large Blade, this ceremonial example has subtly tapered sides, an oval cross-section, rough top edge (suggesting ritual hammering) and a foredge that is not sharp and having several small chips from old use. Not a Jade, it is made from a cementaceous material with excellent eye-appeal and nice unsmoothed surface texture: highly polished it is not. The double-drilled hole was smoothed with care making this a special piece for shamanic use. 2nd-1st Millenium BC. but unknown locale of use.
