Brown Bess model of 1769 new land pattern musket in .75 caliber smoothbore remaining in good original condition showing Tower and GR with crown marking on lock and broad head proofs. The butt plate is marked N. 74 over 86C over CD 11. The metal surfaces show a matching deep brown patina with some scattered light to moderate pitting and erosion. The stock is good with dings, mars and scratches and there are some small losses around the pinholes also other slight imperfections. The musket retains a correct style ramrod. The lock is in its original flintlock configuration with original small parts but the markings may be researchable. Est.: $1,250 -$ 2,500.
