So Buddha’s birth, his enlightenment, the so called awakening, the teaching of Buddha’s doctrines to his disciples and his death are rendered. The known representations, such as the gesture to get in touch with the earth can be seen. With this gesture, Buddha calls the earth as a witness for the truth of his words. The shrine has detailed groups of figures and includes almost 100 statues and architectural elements, such as the tomb of Buddha. The multiple shan miniatures can be mounted freely and show open work ornaments. Each item of the extremely rare ensemble is finely elaborated and cast in the lost wax form.

The miniature shrine is in good condition with signs of wear consistent with age. Partly minor fractures, loss of material and corrosion are visible. The dimensions varies between approx. 8.5 to 42 cm. (lvp)
