Ganesha

Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati; he is one of the most popular Hindu gods. He is mostly shown as a small winged man with an Elephant's head and four arms. Sometimes he sits on a lotus flower. Ganesha is the god's messenger and 'master of obstacles'. He helps to overcome obstacles, but can also create them as punishment. He is seen as a benevolent, well-humoured, but mischievous god. (lvp)
