The reverse of this coin is unusual, bearing only the inscription VOT V-MVLT X-CAESS and a mintmark, but no imagery whatever. The son of emperor Licinius I, Licinius II was proclaimed Caesar when 20 only twenty months old circa 317 A.D. When his father's rebellion against Constantine the Great failed, Constantine executed Licinius I, and eventually Licinius II. At the time of his death in 326 A.D., Licinius II was only 11 years old.
