Made for and used by the Bogobo tribe of Central Mindanao, southern Philippines. The larger one - used in solo - has five ball bearings and "sings" as you move it around….while the two smaller ones were used together on the other ankle and jingled nicely during the dance rituals. The set of three is not easily found today. Trade items (?) from the Maranao (?), they date to the 19th C.....but were used into the early 20th C.
