<B>Broadside, <I>Federalists of New England!!</B></I>,</B></I> one page, 12.5" x 15.25",ca. 1826. A scathing attack on John Quincy Adams for insinuating that New England is acting against the best interests of the United States as a whole. The opening lines read in part:"You, who have been a second time <I>deserted, betrayed,</B></I> and BRANDED AS TRAITORS, read the following documents. If you feel the foul charges of Mr. Adams to be true, then continue to bow the knee to your Idol, and kiss the rod that chastises you...". The broadside includes a December 25, 1825 letter attributed to Thomas Jefferson that addresses the subject New England and the Embargo during the War of 1812. Smoothed folds, light stains, else fine condition.
