British Webley RIC Model Double Action Revolver, #10229, .44 CF cal., 3.5" barrel, bright finish, one-piece walnut grip, German silver blade front sight and "V"-notched rear sight. Marked on top of frame "P.WEBLEY & SON/LONDON & BIRMINGHAM". Left side frame marked "WEBLEY'S No.2 44 CF.LONG" around "RIC" over the Webley & Scott "Winged Bullet" logo. Solid frame six-shot cylinder with loading gate. Extractor head is a non-standard replacement and the extractor is frozen in place. Condition overall is good with most of the dark finish removed from the metal, leaving evidence of polishing and micro-scratching. Grip has a small crack on the left side, otherwise good, with flattening to the checkering and overall old handling marks and darkening to the finish. Bore shows old pitting and darkening with good rifling; chambers are dark but may clean better. Revolver functions only on double action, but the hammer will not hold for single action and will not function in that mode. A rare caliber to find in this model. Est.: $700-$900. (Antique)
