British Pattern of 1861 Cavalry carbine by B.S.A. Co., single shot breech loading, .577 cal., 19” round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stock, ladder rear sight, #NVSN. This gun is in overall goodcondition showing traces of blue on the barrel and traces of muted case colors on the lock plate that is dated 1865 and “V.R.” and crown at back of lock plate; good action, dark bore, overall good wood with darkenedbutt stock area; proofs on receiver, barrel and lock plate, also “B 23” on front of trigger guard; possible association with Canadian forces as from the estate of a collector of Canadian military and policeitems.
