<B>British "Model" of 1751 Sword,</B></I> 30.75" length overall with 25" slightly curved, single fuller blade maker-marked "Dawes Birmm" on top near the guard. Cast brass spiraled grip, two branches and knuckle bow over brass guard proof marked "F/2" on the underside. The sword comes with a leather scabbard sporting a brass throat inscribed "Poulain Hahieus" by individual who might have been the weapon's owner at one time. Deeply toned brass elements, light pitting on blade. The lower 3" of the scabbard are split open while the upper stitching to the throat remains tight. All leather surfaces are rough with considerable crazing. The sword itself is in fine condition.
