This is an example of an early 19th Century flintlock which writer believes to be a Sea Service Pattern. The lock plate has a large rampant lion and a "crown/2" proof stamped ahead of the hammer and the date "1810" stamped behind the hammer. British proofs are also present on the rear of the barrel. The trigger guard, ramrod pipes, side plate, and buttcap are brass. The stock has the "V/ E I/ C" stamp of the East India Company in the grip area. Complete with an iron ramrod.
BBL: 9 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 65
Finish: bright
Grips:
Serial Number: nsn
Condition: Very good. The barrel has been cleaned and retains a protective coating. The lock and hammer have an artificial brown patina. The brass has a polished appearance. There is some mild pitting (mostly on the barrel). The varnish stock is also very good with some minor dings and scratches along with several deep dents (mostly in the grip area). Mechanically fine.
