Writer best known for his tales of Californian mining camps, including "The Outcasts of Poker Flat" and "The Luck of Roaring Camp." Handwritten letter signed on two 5 x 8 adjoining pages, March 29, 1884, Consulate of the United States letterhead. Writing to a an associate by the name of Mr. Tichenor, Harte states, in part, "I am writing to you now to say that I am coming to London in a few days, and I want you to dine with me." Signed at the conclusion, "Yours always, Bret Harte," in black ink. Vertical fold impression along both pages and slight hints of toning, otherwise fine. Est. 250 - 350
