<B>Brawley, CA</B></I> - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 601 <B>The First NB</B></I> Ch. # (P)9673<BR>This new discovery comes from an extremely rare Imperial County community whose only bank issued large notes only before liquidating in 1922. Only two examples are known from here, a damaged piece which was the only note from here that Charley Colver could find in more than three decades of searching, and the Fine-Very Fine example we offered as part of the Lowell Horwedel's California collection in September of 2004. Colver's impaired example sold for $3300, while the Horwedel piece realized $9200.
