<B>The Brave and the Bold #36 Hawkman - Western Penn pedigree (DC, 1961) CGC NM 9.4 White pages.</B></I> The issue with the third Silver Age appearance of Hawkman also occasions the first appearance of the Shadow Thief. This comic was accorded a rare honor indeed last year when it was used for a U.S. postage stamp! This issue is even scarcer in high-grade than #35, with two copies earning CGC grades over VF+ 8.5 to date. One of those is a 'paltry' VF/NM 9.0, leaving this beauty at the head of the class among copies of #36. CGC notes, "Date stamp on back cover." Joe Kubert provided the cover and story art. Overstreet 2006 NM- 9.2 value = $735.
