Brad Delp’s Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 electric guitar made in 2004, serial no. 89102, featuring a McCarty 10 top with special 10-top flame option, carved east coast figured maple high gloss in black cherry with a thick mahogany back. It has a 25? wide-thin neck with an East Indian rosewood fretboard and abalone bird inlays. The hardware and electronics consist of a PRS stoptail, custom PRS nickel tuners, PRS treble and bass pickups with covers, volume and push/pull control with 3-way toggle pickup selector. The guitar features color combinations and tuners which do not fit the recorded specifications for the manufacturing standards of this model. These customizations were factory done. The body has a few superficial chips and scratches, including two spots on the reverse where the finish has chipped through to the mahogany. Complete with its hard case (one latch broken), a PRS specification tag, two guitar cables, a guitar strap, and two guitar picks. Also accompanied by a program for the ‘In My Life’ Brad Delp tribute concert held two months after his passing. Micki Delp notes that this guitar was sent to Brad by Paul Reed Smith because they used him in their advertising, and someone pointed out that he did not play a PRS guitar—so they made one and sent it to him. From the Brad Delp Collection, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from Micki Delp.
