A) Produced without sights, with "LONDON" and a pair of crossed scepter proofs on the barrel and "KETLAND / & Co" marked on the lock ahead of the hammer with light border engraving. Full length stock, with brass furniture, a blank inscription oval on the wrist, and a lightly border and scroll engraved buttplate. With an unmarked saddle holster, with black leather construction and animal hide backing, and a letter from a previous owner claiming that one of the pistols in this lot was the property of American Patriot Nathan Hale before joining the Revolutionary Army. This letter has not been verified. Overall length is 14 inches.

Condition: Very good. A mixed brown patina is present overall, with a small amount of rust and pitting, light handling marks and spotting. The frizzen has been refaced, and the frizzen spring has been replaced and blocked. Stock is fair, with a crack running across the left side, some empty space between the barrel and forearm, and some pressure dents and scuffs. Holster is fair, with scuffing, tears and cracks. Mechanically needs adjustment.
