A child of the past at play frozen in time. A young boy plays hoop rolling as he runs down the street. Hoop rolling ( also calledTrundling) was a sport and popular child game, in which a large hoop is rolled by a chosen implement. The aim of the game was to keep the hoop upright for long periods of time or to do tricks. Dressed like many young boys of the early 1900s, he wears rain boots, shorts, and a well-detailed hooded sailor coat with a bow in the center of his chest. Sailor suits and attire were very popular at the time. He has short hair that frames his cheerful face. A beret sits back on the crown of his head, leaving his hair free beneath it. He is a brown patina but with touches of gold in his hair and his round face. This sculpture was cast using the Lost Wax Method and mounted on a marble base. Dimensions: Height 9 X Width 6 inches. Weight: 5 LBS.
