Box Lot : Complete "Wild Cat / Old" Reloading Press from Streetsville, Ont. believed to have been made by Charles Caves, a local gunsmith & firearms innovator. It was used to reform 25/35 Winchester brass to 219 Zipper for varmint shooting in southern Ontario. The press appears much like a Lyman press, but no manufacturer's markings, the under bench mounting plate is unique, and there are many signs of the press having been constructed by Charlie Caves from original & available parts. The press has an unusual size ( large diameter ) die holder, probably because it was made before a standard size die was established. A "sleeve" is included in this box to convert the press to the current die size for modern use. The remaining components listed below are included and make this a totally workable press, according to owner. Ideal Hand Book for Reloading Ammunition No. 39 (1951 Manual ) - antique metal box containing: hand made aluminum primer insertion tool with pin to attach to press, sleeve insert to convert press from Wildcat die size to current 7/18 x 14 dies - decapping / resizing die for .219 Zipper - unusual size fits press with Allen wrench supplies for locking the collar, believed to be manufactured by C.Caves with a few commercially available parts - seating die - construction and details of manufacture same as above - reforming tool ( 2 pces ) with length of round stock used for extracting the reformed case from the tool, by tapping case out. The reforming process took place without the use of the press using empty 25/35 Winchester cases, and a swift strike from a hammer. The larger diameter acts as a base to sit on the workbench. The resizing section is case hardened to allow long use and trimming of case to proper length with a file - plastic bag : 2 powder scoops for volume loading of powder into cases based upon using IMR 3031 powder. Note: describes the two scoop uses - glass funnel unusual for loading powder into cases - plastic funnel more modern design for loading powder into cases, - Interesting note from Charles Parkinson ( London, Ontario firearms dealer ) to my father regarding shipment of reloading supplies - for general interest for the buyer of this assembly - Quantity of cases for resizing to .219 Zipper in brown box in plastic bag - CIL Cartridge Cases .25/35 Caliber in orig box for resizing to .219 Zipper ( 14 count in plastic bag ) - Speer Bullet old Box .25 Cal87 Gr partial box in plastic bag - Lovell Sisk bullets old manufacture .224 Diameter 50 Grain partial box in plastic bag - Niedner Sisk Bullets old manufacture .22 Cal 54 grain box of 100 - Sierra Sptitzer bullets .224 diameter 50 grain partial box - CIL Remington primers in orig packaging ( 5 boxes old colletible ) -
