Boston, MA- The Massachusetts Bank $20 May 1, 1861 G278dA most unusual note, as the thrifty Yankees who ran this bank persisted in using their original Reed engraved plates, which even in 1861 dated back almost fifty years, for most all of their higher denomination issues, modifying the designs by adding color overprints or different color tints. This signed and issued piece, with two POC, is the only one of its kind we've seen save for the Haxby plate example. Extremely Fine. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
