"Location Bodie District, Mono Co., Cal." printed at bottom center. No. 2554 issued in 1881 to trustee GB Bayley. Signed by president McClinton and sec. Luty. Not cancelled. No vignette but fancy corner graphics. Black border on creme paper. Printer: Britton & Rey, S.F. 4 x 9." Pinholes, folds. Work on the Boston Consolidated was progressing rapidly in 1880, according to Burchard, with sufficient ore in the two drifts open to keep a 10-stamp mill busy. The Boston Consolidated was separated from the Last Chance by a double compartment incline shaft, which was 300 feet in depth. The company made arrangements to work the mine on an extensive scale in 1880. Two assessment stamps on the reverse. The company also assessed it's shareholders $50,000 in 1882 to sustain its operations.
