Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Vitagraph Films publicity photo for West of Shanghai, featuring Karloff as Gen. Wu Yen Fang, signed in fountain pen. In very good condition, with small areas of paper loss to the top corners and a few small tack holes, a faint paper clip impression to the right edge, moderate contrast to the signature, and the year 1937 penned in the bottom border in another hand. Border flaws can easily be matted out for display. Stamp on reverse indicates photo came from Harry Wilkinson’s “Hollywood Amuseum of Memories,” Marblehead, Massachusetts.
