Washington</B></I>" as Principal of the Tuskegee Institute, one page, 6" x 9.5", Tuskegee, Alabama, October 22, 1904 to Miss Caroline E. Wing of Manchester, New Hampshire noting the enclosure of "<I>...my last annual report to he Board of Trustees... I thought you might like to read it or at least glance through it...</B></I>" Besides his contributions to education, Washington was also a significant African American leader of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries advocating self-reliance.
