Black border, central vignette. U/C. Datelined Leadville. Printer: ABN Co., N.Y. Whitney took an exhibit of Colorado ores to the Paris Exhibition in 1867 in order to promote investments. In the years of 1880-1900, the ores of the Leadville area were considered Bonanza grade. Rich ore bodies at the contact of the Leadville Limestone allowed for nearly 1 million ounces of silver to be produced in 1880.
