Boer War Grouping a very scarce group lot to East Yorkshire Regiment Private. This group was purchased from his great niece from Stettler, Alberta. Grouping includes parade tunic (supposedly worn at the coronation of King George). Tunic is correct with buttons and embroidered E. York on the epaulettes. Also includes service pin serial number C11155, East Yorkshire Regiment cap badge, Bible dated 1895, Boer war medal with Cape Colony and Wittebergen clasps and correctly named to 5078 Pte. A. Haywood East Yorkshire Regt.. Three documents also accompany the group which include Pte. Haywoods enrollment document to the East Yorkshire Regiment in the county of Leeds on 8 March 1895, a telegram from the field signed by the Colonel commanding 15th Regtt Dist, signed in Beverley on 18th Oct 1900 saying that 2/E. Yorks Regiment wounded near Bethlehem 23rd Sept 1900. As well there is a document 4 Apr 1901 transfering Pte. Haywood to the reserve army ** also comes with Large antique hard cover book " With The Flag to Pretoria" - This group is very dificult to part with as the great neice was a personal friend who has passed.
