This costume was acquired by the production for use by Whitney Houston as "Rachel Marron". Originally designed by Susan Nininger, the costume was further refined by Chris Gilman's team at Global Effects, Inc., with additional design work by Patrick Tatopoulos. This iconic costume consists of a chrome finish plastic chest piece, a cloth corset with various trim pieces, a metallic grey undersuit with some holes and rips from wear during filming, a large collar piece made of chrome balls, a belt with attached strings of chrome beads, a waist attachment with a metallic silver partial skirt, long gloves with attached decorations, metal arm cuffs, tall high heel boots with diamond shaped decoration down the side, and a silver plastic and metal head piece.

This costume was used to create the video shown in the background of the scene in the movie as well as the live concert footage of her on stage with some slight modifications between the two. In addition, this is the costume worn by Whitney on the poster image of Kevin Costner carrying her (though without the chest piece).

Both the corset and the gloves are marked "Darlene" on the inside and used by Whitney's stunt double during the scene when she is attacked on stage. The holes and damage to the grey undersuit was done by the production from the attack scene, as well there are some beads and chrome balls missing in places on the costume. Our ScreenUsed COA is signed by Chris Gilman, President of Global Effects, Inc, the company responsible for the creation of this piece.
