Reclusive American-born chess grandmaster (1943-2008) who scored a Cold War triumph by defeating Russian world champion Boris Spassky in a celebrated 1972 competition. A chess guide published in Moscow in 1956. Softcover, 5 x 7.75, 170 pages, with text in Russian, signed in blue ballpoint on the title page. Edge tears at the binding to the signed page and some cover soiling and wear, otherwise fine condition. A very tough autograph to find in any form.
