Featured in this lot is this bronze sculpture called "Ranch Filly's," circa 1975 from Montana artist Bob Scriver born in 1914 and died in 1999. The sculpture features a wonderfully and professionally crafted bronze construction that shows a little girl hugging a young filly foal. The bronze is marked as follows: "Ranch Filly's" - Bob Scriver - 7/55 - 1975. Robert Macfie Scriver (1914-1999) was born in Browning, Montana (in the heart of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation) in 1914. Scriver began sculpting using taxidermy to learn his craft of making wildlife bronzes. By 1962 he became a charter member of the Society of Animal Artists, had been accepted into the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America, listed in Who’s Who in American Art, and a member of the National Sculpture Society, and the National Academy of Western Art. The condition of this bronze sculpture is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this bronze sculpture is 6 3/8" x 8" x 5 1/8". The collective weight of these bronze is 5lb 12oz.
