Ink signature and inscription, “To Liza, All The Best, Love, Bob Marley,” on the back of an off-white 3.75 x 1.25 ticket for a Bob Marley and The Wailers performance that took place at the Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on November 3, 1979. Marley has struck through his first attempt at the inscription, which he began as “Eli.” Includes an original 3.5 x 2.5 backstage ‘Guest Pass’ for the concert, which was part of the band’s ‘Survival’ tour. In fine condition, with a crease to the lower right corner.

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, which reads, in part: “The Nov 3 1979 Ottawa Civic Centre Bob Marley ticket was signed by Bob Marley at the post-concert backstage party, which I attended along with my partner, the managing editor of the Ottawa Revue (a weekly entertainment guide). The Ottawa Revue received two complimentary tickets/guest passes to the Nov 3 1979 concert from the event promoter. This special access not only allowed us premium seating for a sold-out event but also tellingly to meet Bob Marley and the band backstage where the Jamaican singer signed my ticket…He started signing my ticket stub to ‘Eliza’ but corrected his mistake. He was charming. It’s tragic he died so young a year and a half later.”
