Bob Gary Collection – Flight Suits. Bob Gary was a senior NASA aerial instrumentation photographer from 1964 – 87. Gary was the lead chase TV aerial cameraman for the ALT program and for STS-2. The blue flight suit in this lot was what Gary used during this period. (Note; the Shuttle Chase Team Patch is one of the early versions with an error in the positioning of "Shuttle". This is one of only a few that remain after the original batch was destroyed.) He was also selected by NASA for a classified assignment with the Israeli Air Force doing aerial photography. The orange flight suit (42L), hat, glasses, boots and gloves were used for the Israeli mission and they do not contain any patches or other identifying markings except a name tag so his country of origin couldn’t be easily identified. Also, included is a team photograph of the STS-3 Chase team, an American Cinematographer Manual, a pair of sun glasses, t-shirt, etc. A very nice collection literally right out of Gary’s locker.
Estimated Value $500 - 750.
