Rare handwritten working lyrics in pencil for "Just Like a Woman" from his 1966 masterpiece Blonde on Blonde, signed "Bob Dylan," two pages, 5.25 x 7.5, no date. Dylan writes out the complete song with its chorus and four verses, making several minor emendations, insertions, and corrections throughout. The lyrics begin: "Nobody feels any pain / To lie exhausted laughing inside the rain / Everybody knows baby's got new clothes / But lately I see her ribbons and her bows / Have fallen from her curls / She takes just like a woman / She aches — / She makes love — / But she breaks just like a little girl." In very good to fine condition, with a central horizontal fold to each page, reinforced with tape on the back. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA.

These important lyrics provide a remarkable window into Dylan's creative process, as he makes minor changes along the way to an iconic finished product. The most notable change is found in the second line: "to lie exhausted laughing inside the rain" becomes "tonight as I stand inside the rain" in the final recording. Further, the middle lines in the chorus in this draft, "she aches / she makes love," are reversed from the final song. This working text boasts a number of the minor changes Dylan made to the lyrics—adding a "that," a "but," or a "please" to precede a line—all of which come together to create an impactful ode.

Although the single peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Just Like a Woman" has been recognized as one of Dylan's greatest compositions. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at #232 in their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
