Extremely rare original Columbia mono pressing of Dylan's second studio album, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (CL 1986), featuring the alternate original tracks 'Rocks and Gravel,' 'Let Me Die In My Footsteps,' 'Gamblin’ Willie’s Dead Man’s Hand,' and 'Talkin’ John Birch Paranoid Blues.' The matrix numbers on both sides end in "-1A" (XLP-58717-1A and XLP-58718-1A), signifying that it is the original pressing; the regular copies, which include the songs 'Girl From The North Country,' 'Masters of War,' 'Bob Dylan’s Dream,' and 'Talkin' World War III Blues,' have matrix numbers ending in -2 or higher. Complete with the original album jacket and inner sleeve; both the jacket and labels list the correct, revised track listing. In fine condition, with a few light scratches to the red label.

Just before the release of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in May 1963, the decision was made to replace four of its tracks. The reasoning behind the change is not entirely known. Some speculate that because CBS television's censors refused to allow him to perform 'Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues' on the Ed Sullivan Show—in a controversial episode that afforded Dylan increased publicity—the CBS-owned Columbia Records then demanded that the song be pulled from the album. Others note that the four 'replacement' tracks were recorded after the album was completed, and may have simply been too good to be left off—they include the Dylan classics 'Masters of War' and 'Girl From The North Country.' In any case, replacement masters featuring the new songs were made, the cover art was changed, and the disc's labels revised. However, a small number of copies were accidentally pressed using the original stampers—these, with matrix numbers ending in "-1A," play the controversial 'Talkin’ John Birch Paranoid Blues' along with the three other withdrawn tracks. According to Jeff Gold of Recordmecca, fewer than 20 of these original mono pressings of Freewheelin' have surfaced since the album's release.
